Marketing and Copywriting

(for a really long time)

Hello!  I’m Kia Cranwell and I write about the design, build, decoration and management of homes and workspaces throughout the UK.

Whether I’m writing articles for global brands, helping furniture designers to sell more products online, creating blogs for interior designers, crafting web content for the building trade or helping coworking spaces attract more online bookings (phew!), I love what I do, which is probably why I’m still doing it after all these years.

My Story

I began my marketing career in the fast-paced advertising agency world as a graduate and haven’t looked back since.

That was 20 years ago (wow, that makes me feel old!)

After a good run in the agency world, working my way up to the top of the tree, I set up a successful content marketing agency.

I worked across industry but my passion took me in the direction of property, where I now specialise in marketing and copywriting for the built environment.  I am now fortunate to work with incredible furniture designers, green building contractors, property companies and many large, well-known brands including Saint Gobain, NHBC, Rockwool, British Gypsum and Persimmon (if you’d like to see feedback from my past clients, you can read their reviews here).

As my client base in the property sector grew, so did my interest in building and interiors…

A personal interest in workplace interior design and coworking

My Creative Director and I were fortunate in securing an incredible building in 2008 for our agency in Buckinghamshire, which was much too big for our needs.  That extra space fuelled many ideas and a new initiative was born.

With full creative freedom, a great deal of hard work and a lot of help, we turned that old WW2 building into a beautiful, bright workspace, art gallery and breakout event space, from the ground up.  It was then that my interest in workplace wellbeing and interior design really took hold, as I delved into every aspect of a healthy, inspirational work environment – both in the home and office.

When Stockholm and London combine

I took inspiration from my Scandi heritage and London spirit (I’m a British-born half-Brit-half-Swede, which explains the strange name) and learnt all I could about creating a comfortable, well-lit, memorable workspace.

We then opened that space up to other creatives to share with us.

That shared workspace was one of the first and longest running coworking spaces in the UK to date.

Marketing, Psychology and Writing

To keep my edge in marketing and communications, I continued to sharpen my knowledge with a second degree in Psychology & Behaviour, and earned additional marketing certificates from CIM, Google, eConsultancy and HubSpot.

This enables me to stay ahead of the game in digital marketing, and to keep my students up-to-date, too (I also coach and train business owners and budding copywriters).

What does all this mean for you?

My expertise in digital marketing and copywriting combined with my almost-obsessive interest and experience in the interior design and property industry means that you’re getting much more than just a wordsmith and content strategist…

You’re benefiting from a marketer and copywriter who’s been where you are, understands your industry, knows what works and shares your passion.

For nearly two decades I’ve worked with business owners and decision-makers, supporting them with blogging, copywriting, marketing strategy, branding and positioning.

That’s my story.  I’d love to hear yours. Please get in touch and tell me all about your business and where you’d like to take it – and I’ll help you get there.

If you would like to know more about my work history, qualifications and experience, please visit my LinkedIn, or read my client reviews.  Alternatively, if you would like to discuss a project with me, please call me for a confidential chat about your business.
